WILDCARE is a non-profit organization of volunteers trained to care for ill, injured, or orphaned native wildlife until they recover and have grown to an age where they can take care of themselves. They are then released back into the wild in an appropriate location.
Wild Feathers Inc. is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide Wildlife preservation, exceptional care for abandoned, injured, and sick wild birds. The goal is to rehabilitate the birds, and return them to their natural wild habitat. Wild Feathers also rehabilitates un-wanted or lost domestic birds and places them in a loving caring home.
Bat Conservation International (BCI), based in Austin, Texas, is devoted to conservation, education, and research initiatives involving bats and the ecosystems they serve. It was founded in 1982, as scientists around the world became concerned that bats essential to the balance of nature and human economies were in alarming decline. Under the founding guidance of Dr. Merlin Tuttle, an internationally recognized authority on bats, the organization has achieved unprecedented progress by emphasizing sustainable uses of natural resources that benefit both bats and people.
Bat World Sanctuary was founded in 1994 and is a non-profit, all volunteer organization with 20 rescue centers nationwide.
Each year they rescue thousands of bats that might otherwise die. Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, confiscated from the illegal pet trade and retired from zoos and research facilities.
The mission of the DFW Wildlife Coalition is to reduce, through public outreach and education, the incidence of orphaned or euthanized native wildlife in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. Our mission is accomplished through your generous donations, which fund this coexistence solution driven website and public speaking program (see WildSpeak, above), empowering the public by providing humane solutions for coexistence in an urban environment.
